Together, we can strengthen our community through Art, Education, Human Services, Music, Conservancy, Child Protection, and Life Enrichment.

History

The Laurel Ridge Foundation was established formally in 2021 after years of fundraising under the moniker Little Joe’s Society of Support. The Little Joe’s created the Derby Day for Charity event as a fundraiser for the Old Joe’s Club, another local charity organization. Eventually, the Derby Day for Charity Event became so popular it was time for the Little Joe’s to create their own organization apart from the parent organization. Therefore, the Board of the Little Joe’s created their own Foundation and the Laurel Ridge Foundation was born. Unfortunately, this decision came around the same time the world shut down due to the Covid 19 crisis. Derby Day for Charity took a hiatus in 2020 and then held the last event under the Old Joes in 2021.

Laurel Ridge Foundation was founded in the fall of 2021 and the first Laurel Ridge Foundation Derby Cay for Charity event was held in 2022. The 2022 event was a huge success. Derby Day and Laurel Ridge have been growing ever since.
